Lumen is Latin for light. In a spiritual context this means wisdom, illumination.
Nun to the Ancient Egyptians was the primordial water of existence, the womb where the seeds of life are dormant in the dark waters. In Hebrew Nun means fish or to sprout. In Qur’an it referred to the whale in the story of Jonas and the Whale. In another verse it is interpreted by Sufis as the inkwell (or source) in which the pen writing destiny was dipped and from which all unfolded (Q: 68:1). To the Ancient Copts Nun meant the Abyss. So Nun refers to water, the source of existence, darkness, the seeds of potential.
It is by diving into the deep abyss of our emotions and shadowy parts of our subconscious that we get acquainted with our potential. Eventually we find soul purpose, enlightenment. Therefore lumen and nun, thus Lumenun!
